Sun finally hits England... and I finally get hit by money!

Hey everybody!!

Long time no writing! Hehehehe. I hope you've all been well and haven't left this blog. I know I've neglected it a bit from my 'personal touch' (*^x^*) *giggles*. 

It's been rather manic on this end. I had several interviews with the big bosses as soon as I got back from my 'holiday' and now I'm frantically writing and editing for my deadlines. *^^* But it's ALL GOOD.

Good news is though I had a absolutely wonderful Birthday month and the sun has been shining like crazy this past week! We were all so worried that the UK won't have a summer this year since it's been raining non stop until this last week. But the sun finally has hit us and warming us all up *^^*

Oh and I've finally been told I've been awarded a Scholarship for my PhD! I'm exempt from fees AND I get some pocket money each year (*^.~*) 
(no I'm not telling how much that is *giggles*). It's for THREE YEARS! (*^.^*)

I was told that I was up against some tough competition in those interviews for the scholarship, including some Law students I saw outside in the waiting room... I saw some seriously tall, macho looking confident guys in suits.

I'm also now Faculty Student Representative of the Faculty of Business and Law for PGR students (Post-Graduate Research). So that means turning up to committee meetings etc. I'm guessing it'll be mostly social events organising since us PGR lot don't complain much (*^.~*) hehehe. Parties, oh yes!

I have a major deadline in August and then a super major important exam in September. But that's not to mean I'm not partying (*^.^*) Well... my idea of fun and partying usually is to do with food... 

I adore this patisserie shop called Patisserie Valerie in the city centre. So many cakes and delicacies!!! MMMMmmmmmmmmm~   (o*^^*o)

The one on the left is a Citron Tart, all lemony and zesty fresh, and the one on the right is a Raspberry Tart which is a pile of juicy raspberries piled on top of an egg custard filled tartlet. Gorgeous stuff!

A mini rock live I went to whilst in Hong Kong (*^^*)

Even though it was a small crowd the atmosphere was amazing and even my parents were rockin' out to the tunes!! Awesome!

Check out the wristbands I got (both RED and BLACK!) and also the YouTube Video link below of my phone recording. It's the last two songs of the set of three including the main (finishing) song. 

I was stood at the back of the (small) crowd but it was still quite close, it seems smaller on the video.
The music was so loud you can feel everything shaking around you!
Everyone was totally headbanging in the middle of the street and singing/shouting really loud (*^^*)

Just another phase...

And so I've been forced to immerse myself into another phase of considerable stress... there's a major deadline coming up and I have a large amount of writing for my papers to do this month.
Which means I'm afraid, that the updates for this blog will be slightly slower than anticipated. However I will be responding to comments (since these don't take much time *^^*) and am currently compiling and selecting the photos from my holiday to be published. So please bear with me!


Another phase... yes another one... but also in terms of my personal growth. No not physical growth unfortunately, oh how I wish to be taller... ( ; _ ; )


But a mental metamorphosis. I'm not changing to something extremely different, but perhaps striving towards an extreme version of myself. In otherwords.. becoming more and more boldly ME.


I believe we all go through these in various stages of life, possibly most obviously during teenage years and those who have a midlife crisis etc. 


But I'm revamping, rediscovering and re-enlightening myself, my old self, and creating my future self *^^*.

Goguma Beauty Recommendations: NARS Orgasm Multiple

Having pale skin and frequently accused of being ill or anaemic (although it is just the case that Westerners aren't familiar with the skin shades of Oriental girls...I'm very healthy!), I've decided to regularly use blush in my make up routine. However, although I am quite happy with powder blushes, I have found that they could sometimes be very dry, and very 'superficial' rather than giving a glowy natural feel. I wanted something that made you radiate a glow from within.

I'd hate to look like some painted mask! 

And even though I've been reluctant using cream blushes, (some do not glide over foundation and actually make your base worse as you have to rub it around or that it gets sticky, or worse, look like you've applied a dollop of paint), I've found the perfect cream blush!

MY FIRST JOURNAL MANUSCRIPT TO BE PUBLISHED!

So after going through a cycle of writing, drafting, re-drafting, trashing, re-doing and editing, re-editing (you get the idea xD)....

And getting SERIOUSLY exhausted from over time.....

No sleep for days.... Minimal food... LOTS OF COFFEE!!!!!!

(Yes, working as an editor writing/making a manuscript takes about 3 weeks minimum... so this anime really does fit the description of my life well!)

 

Things have finally paid off!!! My manuscript has been accepted!!! As LEAD AUTHOR!!!!

The results were delayed due to the massive amount of papers that were submitted to the publishers/editors so I had to wait a gruelling 2+ extra weeks!

....

 But now, it's all smiles from this end as it's been accepted and we get to do final adjustments before it's sent for the British Academy of Management conference and published... PLUS... It may be published in a Special Issue Journal (post-conference)

 So now the cycle restarts again.... the office (and my bedroom) is all PINK, FLUFFY AND SPARKLING! (*^^*)....

(Not to mention it's finally well organised and clean..... *ahem*)

 Shame there's no hot guys involved.... ( _ _ ;)

Fashion: Japanese Host Wearing Polka Dots, Skulls & Tall Boots in Harajuku [TokyoFashion.com]

I absolutely love this kind of style on guys and myself, definitely one of my favourites if not my favourite style.. I'm very much a black, grey and white person with the odd brightly coloured funky accessory (*^^*)
I tend to dress like this on my 'off duty' days when I'm not working, since I've got to tone things down when I turn up to the office *giggles* - I stand out loads already amongst all the business suits xD
